Donegal County Museum

Donegal County Museum offers visitors an accessible introduction to the long and varied history of County Donegal. The museum is housed in a stone building that once formed part of the Letterkenny Workhouse, giving the setting a historical significance of its own.
Its collections span thousands of years, from archaeological discoveries and early settlement to more recent social, political and cultural history. A permanent exhibition introduces the county’s story, while temporary displays explore particular people, places and events in greater detail.
Admission is free and the museum is fully accessible. As an entirely indoor attraction in the centre of Letterkenny, it is an excellent choice for a wet afternoon and can easily be combined with shopping, food or another nearby attraction.
